Behind the Scenes: new work for solo violin

One of my new pieces involving spatial audio this year is a work for my friend, colleague and fantastic violinist Marie Schreer. If I Am from Somewhere I Am From There will be a 20 minute piece for violin, electronics and video that dwells on the ideas of home, belonging and migration. The work is part of a fantastic project Marie has brought together with Ashkan Behzadi, Taher Adel, and her own composition.

A feature from Composers Edition recently went behind the scenes with Marie and me as we have begun making the new work.
